Senior Project Engineer

Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this post the successful candidate must:-
  • Have at least a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent.
  • Must be a registered engineer with ERB and a corporate member of IEK or any other recognized engineering institution.
  • Have at least 10 years experience in water supply and sanitation projects.
  • Have experience in FIDIC Contract Administration.
  • Have experience in Project planning, management and evaluation.
  • Be Computer literate and conversant with AUTOCAD and MS Project.
Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Chief Manager Technical Services and be responsible for:-
  • Project monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ensuring that the project work plan and procurement plan is executed without delays.
  • Preparing quality tender documents, terms of reference and specifications.
  • Supervision of project activities to ensure quality, timelines and value addition.
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly progress reports on all contracts, consultants, contractors and suppliers.

  • Have at least a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Hydrology or Ground Water Resources.
  • Have at least 5 years post graduate experience.
  • Be a registered hydrologist, geologist or water resource expert.
  • Have experience in ground water investigation or sounding.
  • Be Computer literate.

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Chief Manager Technical Services and be responsible for the following duties:-
  • Preparing geophysical investigation plan for the project.
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly reports on community water resources in the program.
  • Ensuring timely acquisition of mandatory licenses for ground water abstraction.
Community Development Expert

  • Have at least a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences.
  • Have a post graduate training on community development.
  • Have at least 10 years relevant post qualification experience.
  • Have at least 5 years experience in implementation of rural community developments projects.
  • Be Computer literate.
Duties and responsibilities

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Chief Manager Technical Services and be responsible for the following duties:-
  • Develop gender mainstreaming plan and ensure implementation of the plan for all the community projects.
  • Develop specific community involvement and mobilization benchmarks for Support Organization (SOs).
  • Evaluate plans, measures and activities by SOs to improve community participation and contribution.
  • Assist in mobilization of the community project start up stages.
  • Advise and provide solutions on problematic community projects.
